50 Years of University Motors

John Twist opened his University Motors MG repair shop in Grand Rapids on January 25, 1975. The rest is history!

John hosted the University Motors 50th Birthday Party on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Grand Rapids, MI. Though it was cold outside, we enjoyed the warmth of MG friends and fellowship.

We ate chili in honor of John’s late wife Caroline Robinson and birthday cake from a local bakery. Former and current University Motors employees gathered for a photo. A 50/50 raffle benefited the MG Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of Michigan.

Though the birthday party is over, you can still participate with a donation via PayPal/credit card. Donations go toward preserving and promoting John Twist’s MG legacy and are greatly appreciated.

NOTE: University Motors is NOT hosting a summer party reunion in August 2025.
